Project Statement

I have often felt trapped, and imprisoned by my mind, entrenched and swallowed up by the ever present need to isolate the mind from the threat of an uncontrollable future. I am in constant conversation with my own self-protecting thoughts. Once I rid my mind of my own toxic attachments, the muck is cleared and I am no longer entrenched and the awakening can begin. The process of accepting what was and what is commences. I grant myself the liberty to exist without fear of what might come.  In the end, I must accept that I can only control myself and the idea of controlling what others might do is an impossible task.

Artist Statement

I want to make work that is deeply personal to me, something that explores what it means to be human, I want to understand others` journeys of  reflection and recovery with their past and their traumas, whilst also making work about what it feels like to love and feel a sense of great joy within life. I want to go on a journey with others through the work of dance to experience together all aspects of the human condition.
